Donations are tax-deductible and are used to support our philanthropic programs. We are governed by National Assistance League. Our Board of Directors are all unpaid volunteers. Our Bargain Box Thrift Store is maintained and run solely by members, who all volunteer their time. Proceeds from the Bargain Box support our programs, along with donations and grants. In the year ending April 30, 2020, 86% of all funds received were used to directly benefit our programs. A large part of the remaining percentage covered expenses to run the Bargain Box and our downtown Ventura buildings. Please note, the Girls Club/Teen Club was discontinued in early 2020, because the needs of the community had changed.
