Girls Club/Teen Club

The first philanthropic program adopted by the chapter was Girls Club in 1954. In 1960 the Chapter acquired the house at 913 East Santa Clara Street, Ventura, which is the current location of Girls Club. In 1968 a Teen Club was added to the program in the adjacent house on Kalorama Street.

Enrollment Opportunity for Summer Camp

Assistance League of Ventura County's Girls Club/Teen Club is now enrolling girls first grade through eighth grade for the summer camp sessions. The program begins on June 13th and runs through August 19th. Enrollment can be daily or weekly, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday--Friday. A wide variety of classes include Arts/Crafts, Dance, Cooking, Sewing and Life Skills. There are weekly theme days, field trips, fundraisers and so much more. Girls Club/Teen Club Now Accepting Fall Registration

Assistance League of Ventura County's Girls Club/Teen Club is currently accepting enrollment for the upcoming school year. Established in 1954, Girls Club/Teen Club offers a year-round, nurturing safe haven for young girls in 1st through 8th grade. Professionally staffed, the after school and vacation program promotes academic achievement and includes a variety of creative activities designed to increase the girls' self-confidence and personal enrichment. Activities are designed to develop Life Skills, Arts and Crafts, Sewing, Cooking and Homework assistance. The Girls Club is located at 913 E. Santa Clara Street, Ventura, CA 93001. At the Sewing Machine

The girls are supervised by paid staff, aided by Assistance League members. A wholesome program is offered with emphasis on homemaking, creative arts and recreational activities five afternoons a week during the school year. The programs are designed to develop creative and academic achievement and self-respect and to provide enrichment. Afternoon programs are offered August through June. All day summer camp runs mid-June through mid-August.

Girls Club

Approximately 25% of the girls are on full or partial scholarships. Fees are kept to a minimum by chapter fundraising and donations.
Scholarships for education beyond high school are available from the Vivian Johnson scholarship fund to girls who have attended Girls Club or Teen Club.
