Philanthropic Programs

…continue to grow and thrive because we deliver the right approaches to local challenges.
We conduct community assessments and develop programs designed to meet uncovered needs.

Operation School Bell®

(Est.1993): Our signature program has  provided clothing, shoes, toiletries and school supplies to local underprivileged students in grades K through 5, many of whom have never had anything new. More than 29,219 students, who are always very appreciative of everything they receive, have benefited from this program since its inception. Referrals are accepted from the school districts we serve. No private or individual referrals are accepted.

ALVC members sort and deliver clothing to Ventura County Human Services Agency’s emergency resource closet for County social workers to access. Last year, 3,770 items were provided to 154 families. In addition, those served by this program are welcome to select items of clothing and household needs at the ALVC Bargain Box. Referrals are accepted from Ventura County Children and Family Services.
